BIM Coordination & Collaboration
Flow Consulting supports hydraulic building services projects through effective BIM coordination, combining digital expertise with practical construction knowledge.
We work collaboratively with project teams to improve communication, streamline project delivery and minimise costly issues during construction.
Our BIM Coordination Services Include:
BIM Execution Plan (BEP) implementation and review
Multidisciplinary BIM collaboration and coordination
Hydraulic services routing and penetration coordination
Federated model review and clash detection
Model and project information coordination
RFI management and design-change coordination
ACC and BIM 360 project collaboration and issue tracking
Multidisciplinary BIM Coordination
Hydraulic services rarely operate in isolation. Flow works within multidisciplinary BIM environments to coordinate hydraulic models with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, fire and other project information.
Combined and federated models allow service routes, structural interfaces, penetrations, clearances and access requirements to be reviewed across disciplines. This gives the wider project team an opportunity to identify conflicts and develop practical solutions before construction.
Clash Detection & Model Review
Flow uses model review and clash detection workflows, including ACC Model Coordination & Navisworks, to identify potential conflicts between hydraulic services, structure and other building services.
Coordination reviews can assess service routes, penetrations, equipment locations, installation clearances and other spatial requirements. Identified issues can then be worked through with the relevant consultants and contractors as part of the project coordination process.
Digital Project Collaboration
Flow works within digital project environments including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, Procore and Aconex to support model coordination, document sharing and project communication.
Where BIM project requirements are established, Flow can work within BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), agreed model structures, naming requirements and project coordination processes. This helps ensure information is shared consistently and the project team is working from current coordinated information.
Digital issue tracking and coordinated model review also provide greater visibility of outstanding design and construction items as a project progresses.
BIM Quality & Model Management
Good BIM coordination depends on reliable model information. Flow applies model review, coordination and quality-control processes to support consistent project delivery.
This can include reviewing model setup and coordination requirements, maintaining shared project information, working with BIM Execution Plans and checking models against agreed project requirements.
